Well, here’s a little secret from Chef Kwebz’s baking diary—get ready for something fun! Have you heard of cakesicles? They’re a delightful way to use up those cake scraps, and I can’t wait to show you how to make them!
Let’s dive into what you’ll need to create these tasty treats!
Cakesicle Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup cake crumbs (from your favorite cake)
- ¼ cup frosting
- 1 cup chocolate chips or candy melts
- Popsicle sticks
- Sprinkles or other decorations (optional)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the cake mixture:
Combine cake crumbs and frosting in a bowl. Mix until well combined and forms a dough-like consistency.
2. Fill the molds:
Place popsicle sticks into the bottom of your cakesicle molds. Spoon the cake mixture into the molds, pressing down firmly to ensure it’s packed tightly.
3. Add chocolate coating:
Melt the chocolate chips or candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl or over a double boiler. Pour the melted chocolate over the cake mixture in the molds, covering the top and sides.
4. Chill and decorate:
Refrigerate the cakesicles until the chocolate is completely hardened. Remove them from the molds and decorate as desired with sprinkles, edible glitter, or other toppings.
Tips:
- For a smoother finish, use a pastry brush to apply the chocolate coating.
- If the cake mixture is too dry, add a tablespoon or two of milk or melted butter.
- Get creative with your decorations! You can use anything from sprinkles and edible glitter to candy melts and chocolate chips.
Enjoy your delicious cakesicles!
